Hawaii is Paradise

June 21st Reed, Joan, BJ and Scott arrived in Paradise. Our arrival was perfect, Palm trees swaying in a slight breeze with a perfect 85 degree temperature. After settling in we immediately went on a quest for surfing lessons. BJ and Scott had a goal to learn to surf while we were in Hawaii.

If you know Dad you know that he has to go to a waterfall. He found two falls to go to. They were beautiful and fun. The hikes were not hard or long that made mom happy. The hike to Manoa Falls had flowers that had dropped all along the trail.and flowers in the trees all along the trail.

Maunawilli Falls was full of excitement. The trail was full of exposed roots. When we got to the falls Dad, BJ, & Scott jumped off of the falls many times.

We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and had a fun time. We learned about many of the Polynesian islands and saw lots of dancing with fun things to do that is unique to the different islands. We went to a Luau which was a traditional Luau and had Poi Rolls (purple rolls) spiced meat and shredded pig. We had all the fruit drinks we wanted. It was good. The program was full music and Polynesian dancing. Dad and I were invited up front to dance with all the other couples who were celebrating an aniversary.

The boys were having fun doing crazy things.

Watching sunsets out our Hotel balcony, eating Shave Ice all over the island to find the best one(Haleiwa was voted the best), and laughing all the time made out trip very very fun. Scott summed up our trip perfectly!!!!

Reed and Joan go on some trips

April was a very fun month for
Dad and I. We first visited with Cari and played games with Cari and visited with Jess.

The best thing we did was play with Kade and Lucas. We went to the zoo while Reed was with us. The boys had there first tailgate lunch.

nother fun thing we did was go to Wild Wood lake.

Eating lunch was cold. We went to the other side of the lake and found a small beach. We had our own private beach. The boys made sand castles, and they got buried in the sand. Lucas and Kade would play in the water and then get out and wrap up in there towel.

Dad and I loved seeing Cari, Jess Lucas and Kade. Kades favorite game is Mario Cart. Boy, is Kade good at that game. He would place very high and I would stay consistantly in 12th place. It was fun to see everyone llaughing and being together.
We had a great time and want to see Kade, Lucas, Jess and Cari again soon. I love you all!!!!!

Our Puerto Rico Trip

We flew home, fixed a good dinner for Scott ,washed some clothes and headed off to Puerto Rico.

We were there for 5 days. We went sight seeing our first day, learning about why we have Puerto Rico as part of the United States.

We drove to the west side of the island and went through the Camuy Cave. We also ate a common food to Puerto Rico, Mofongo. It is made with Plantain. it wasnt't to bad. It was very filling. We also went on a high adventure hike throught the Tanama Forest. The drive to the forest was a fun adventure. Reed thought he was jeeping in Moab again.

We went on 8 zip lines and repelled about 65 feet off a cliff.

We cannoed through a cave with bats.

While Reed was off we ran and ran. While Reed was working Joan relaxed by the beach
and read a Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. We had a great time.

IBex Trip

My friends and i went on a trip down a little south to a little place called IBex near delta to do a little rock climbing mom told me to put up a few pics from down there so here they are...

BJ's HOME!!!

BJ got home from his mission a week or 2 ago so here's the blog update even though you probably already know cus it's all over town. He went to the Texas San Antonio mission. Mom tried to hold back her emotions but in the attempt to hide she only showed more. I don't really know what else to say other than he has unlimited texting now so text him up eh. I can't put his number here but just ask mom or something and you can spam him all you want haha jk. Here are some pics of the airport scene. The poster was curtisy of Gavin

It may seem like the security man was enjoying being in this picture, but at the time he was having a hard time getting everyone to get out of the isle where people could walk through especially since that isle kept moving from one place to another depending on where the mass of mothers were charging (due to the 11 missionaries coming home).

Hansen's Mountaineering "Campus Challenge"

This is a route put up at a local climbing area called Hansen's Mountaineering. The route is called the campus challenge because it is called a campus when you don't use your legs, it is also a type of traverse, because in stead of going up you go across, or in this case, around. In the video it changes lighting before the last couple moves, yes, I did do the whole route, but not in the video. The camera only takes 16 seconds and I couldn't do it that fast so I had to splice them together. hopefully this will inspire the climber within' because climbing is awesome!! (really I just put this on here because mom told me to.)
